Clare joint-manager Donal Moloney believes that his charges will have benefited from the break in action last weekend.

Some managers might have wanted to carry on in Clare’s position after they defeated Kilkenny last time out, but Moloney is looking at the bigger picture.

And he feels that the side have been rejuvenated even from just having the weekend off from playing a competitive game.

Clare face Cork at Pairc Ui Rinn this Saturday evening (7.15pm) and Moloney told the Clare Champion that the mood in the camp was very good ahead of the game.

“This break in the league has probably been welcomed because it precedes the three games on the trot that are coming up against Cork, Wexford and Limerick,” said Moloney.

“It’s a chance for people to draw breath because it’s an incredibly competitive league, irrespective of the forthcoming structures. It’s ferociously competitive, as we have seen in the first few rounds.”
