Antrim look set to add a stellar name to their hurling backroom staff this week.

Neal Peden, who will take sole charge of the team for the coming year after Terence 'Sambo' McNaughton and Dominic 'Woody' McKinley stepped down at the end of last season, will have two-time Clare All-Ireland winning captain Anthony Daly working alongside him in an advisory capacity.

Daly's role is expected to be similar to the one fulfilled by Liam Sheedy with the Saffrons this year. Sheedy has since been appointed manager of his native Tipperary for a second time.

It's understood that Daly, who was recently linked with a return to the Dublin hotseat, will also continued as manager of the Kilmacud Crokes hurlers in 2019.

Gary O'Kane and Jim Close will also be part of the new Antrim management team.
