Clare's 2013 All-Ireland winning hurling forward Colin Ryan is hoping to add another medal to his collection in the coming weeks.

The Newmarket-on-Fergus man, who announced his inter-county retirement last October, has been starring for the Clare District League soccer team in their run to the last four of the Oscar Traynor Cup. Clare defeated Dublin AUL last Sunday to move a step closer to securing a third successive title. Kilkenny District League will provide the semi-final opposition for them.

A former Portsmouth triallist, Ryan played in Clare's victory over Inishowen in last year's Oscar Traynor Cup final.
