A former Clare club footballer made his full debut for Ipswich Town this week.
Ennis man Barry Cotter lined out in defence for the Tractor Boys in their 1-0 Championship win over Barnsley on Wednesday night. Ironically, his debut coincided with the resignation of former Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy as Ipswich boss.
Cotter, who joined Ipswich from Limerick FC, featured for Eire Og in the Clare SFC in 2016 and also played for the Ennis club in their run to last year's Clare U21FC semi-final when they were beaten by St. Joseph's Doora-Barefield.
