Peter Duggan is a doubt for Clare's Allianz hurling league opener against Tipperary on Sunday week.

The Clooney-Quin forward was unable to play in Sunday's Munster SHL final loss to Limerick after suffering a hand injury in the build-up to the Gaelic Grounds clash.

Duggan has been in excellent form of late - he was the star man as his club qualified for the Clare SHC final for the first time in 75 years last season and carried that form onto the inter-county scene, scoring a total of 52 points as the Banner County captured the Fenway Hurling Classic silverware in Boston.

Sixmilebridge midfielder Jamie Shanahan is also in a race to be fit for the start of the league campaign as he recovers from a back injury.
