Ladies Football seanas far as i know the last 3 snr county ladies finals have been played outside breffni park so in recent years the finals are NEVER in Breffni. ochonlir , 02/09/2010 at 21:37Yes you are correct but I think it was as a result of a fixture congestion in the ladies side that then classed with our own fixtures at championship level. I stand corrected, I will say however they the ladies board have had finals over the last few years and are not locked out from the Breifne Park pitch.?? seanorinn , 02/09/2010 at 21:54
What hope for Cavan over next 10 years kerry have won more all irelands but Tyrone have won the head to theads so depending on how one looks at it?? ochonlir , 02/09/2010 at 21:48

Ladies Football Well done to Lavey last night, brilliant win for them to come back from 8 point to no score in first ten minutes! Showed grit and determination throughout the game and fully deserved their win, brilliant defending in the second half especially, i believe they held mullahoran to a single point in second half? (correct me if im wrong) Was a hard hitting game but there was no malice, Two teams playing for a championship title that was all. Ref handled it well i thought.Best of luck to Lurgan Lavey and Belturbet in Ulster! anybody tell me the fixtures? when and where the games and who the oppositions? miwadi , 02/09/2010 at 20:53
What hope for Cavan over next 10 years Kerry have been a better team than Tyrone over the past decade wishfulthinkin , 02/09/2010 at 20:45
What hope for Cavan over next 10 years Yes Sean, players with big heads need to be brought down to earth !! The manager's job imo !! Is he strong enough to do it though ? Hope so !! Cavan_Slasher , 02/09/2010 at 18:41I am sure he will but I have no problems in saying this if he gets rid of most and brings in youth we will be well on the road to recovery. seanorinn , 02/09/2010 at 20:06

Ladies Football clonee , 02/09/2010 at 16:45The ladies County Finals have near always been played in Breffni Park, sometimes circumstances distate otherwise.Last night was the first time in all my years in breffni that I ever saw a crowed like what was there and I would say the ladies county board were surprised as well. If an attendance like last night was the norm I expect the holy grail is the place for them.????? seanorinn , 02/09/2010 at 18:20
What hope for Cavan over next 10 years another midfielder for givney. FoolsGold , 02/09/2010 at 17:09Garoid McKiernan seanorinn , 02/09/2010 at 18:16
What hope for Cavan over next 10 years I have been saying the same thing for ages. The biggest crime that any poster can utter is "sure we haven't the players" !! Its a cop out for not having a proper system in place i.e good manager, trainer, scouts, coaching system, physios, underage system, facilities, etc etc and it all springs from having a good proactive county board !! Cavan_Slasher , 02/09/2010 at 17:51There are quality players here in the county BUT they need to remove the big head atitude for they know it all don't they hence why we are where we are.???Sean seanorinn , 02/09/2010 at 18:14

Ladies Football unfortunately i ave to disagree with u there ! was right in front of it and she made no attempt to play de ball..young sheridan was targeted and thats as simple as that ...she destroyed lavey the last day..definately more finals should be played der Bubbles84 , 02/09/2010 at 17:51
Ladies Football i dont think the mullahorans criticised the ref during the match but certainly after it and one of the managers whose daughters were playing could be heard saying that the referee should never of reffed the game as killygarry(refs club) is too close too lavey.i thought ref had a good enough game-some decisions questionable but he was in favour of neither team.some of the tackles were hard hitting(by both sides) but mullahoran got away with this for how many years-so its just now teams stand up to them and they dont like it and suddenly other teams are too rough...!!!! What hope for Cavan over next 10 years don't agree that the talent is not their for cavan to make major strides in the next few years. just think of where monaghon was 6 years ago, stuck in div 4 & going nowhere. then they appointed mcEneaney & even though they got no silverware they are a established div 1 team & have reached 2 ulster finals & 2 last 12 appearances. so my point is that all counties have talent (also think of wicklow pre micko) its just a question of wether we have the right man to get the best out of our players bond , 02/09/2010 at 17:27
What hope for Cavan over next 10 years a few of the u21 will be involved nexy more then likely and would be a big help.. bud fitzpatrick,g mckiernan, declan mckiernan, rory dunne, james mcenroe, barry reilly are players i would like to see get a run next year.. i dont think mossy corr will get a second year at full back,he was off the pace in a lot of games, dunne could be a better option there. bud fitz would be a great addition aswell. id like to see gavin duffy tried aswell if he has no injury problems,. i think barry reilly would make the senior team nexy year easily, but he will probaly stick with the u21s. lyng should also be back next year and cullivan if they want to play..they need to find another midfielder for givney. Championship draw Hey I know the bookies rarely lose but anyone see any value in the bets below from paddy power? From what I have seen of the teams they have been winning while playing within themselves. (At least I hope thats not as good as it gets :) )Cavan Gaels 8/15 Kingscourt 11/4 Mullahoran 9/2 Ramor Utd 11/1 Can anyone beat the Gaels!!!! zealot , 02/09/2010 at 16:48
Ladies Football totally disagree wth ya there bubbles, 15 for lavey tried to play the ball, there was absolutely no maliciousness in that tackle, she wasnt tryin to take young sheridan out of it in my opinion. sheridan DID take a big hit but it wasnt an intentional foul from where we were sitting and she was grand to play on. great to see the ref not throw out the yellow card,it didnt deserve it. renee murphy has a broken rib and went against all medical advice to play, fair play to her, great point. lavey were that bit hungrier on the night, twiggy well deserved potm, annmarie and rachel jordan were also great, and breda smith was brilliant for mullahorn. best final yet, even better than the senior, brilliant crowd, great atmosphere and BRILLIANT to see it in breifne park where every championship final should be played, to play them anywhere else is a complete disgrace and its about time the womens county board stopped acceptng decisions like that from the mens board. i watched an under 13 little boys division 3 final in breifne park the week after i had to go to lavey to watch the junior and senior womens championship finals. something not right about that and the longer we put up with it the longer the mens county board will continue to treat womens football like **** in cavan. clonee , 02/09/2010 at 16:45
New management objectives. listen i think things are been taken a bit serious.andrews is obviously a decent trainer (no reason to question this) hyland obviously knows cavan football with success from being with lavey.stephen king -dont really know what he brings but hes there anyway.ive gone to a lot of games over the last few weeks and the footballers are simply not there so all this talk about been embarassed of the county and we should be this and that is rubbish. face facts if andrews gets the team playing to a system and instills hard work and determination into the team we should be happy.who are we kidding were not good enough simple!im sure he'll over see the underage structures in the county and hopefully he'll be able to bring these great minor teams throughand richie give it up about pete mcgrath.we have a management team now so just get on with it.we're not goin to get a miracle worker kanu , 02/09/2010 at 16:43
New management objectives. Seannorinn......Im hoping at least that he would have the authority to pick his own selectors..If not the case well i then understand why we didnt go for and get a high profile manager..If he didnt pick his selectors well who did??..I Remember previously one particular selector worked under about 3 different managers so maybe the CB are STILL pulling the strings and calling the shots like before..IS IT A CASE OF NEW FACE SAME SYSTEM? richiej , 02/09/2010 at 13:37I think you will find that he worked as you say under three diferent managers well if its who I am thinking off he worked with more but was not a selector??? seanorinn , 02/09/2010 at 14:06
New management objectives. All the talk here is about Andrews but you have to remember that they have been appointed as joint managers and Hyland will have just as much say... Personally i find it strange that they were appointed as joint managers as i would always be of the opinion that there should be 1 boss. It seems like they wern't sure which one to appoint so the went with both of them. I just hope that they can communicate really really well because a joint manager scenario can be to the detriment of a team...I don't think it matters a lot who the selectors are as could be though enough getting ideas across with two managers in place. That said a selector needs to be able to read the game while being completely distracted from the game...I still think we should have appointed a young managers with good player pedigree as they tend to know what need to be done. As that has not happened we have no option but to get behind them and give them the benefit of the doubt.... ponger , 02/09/2010 at 13:59
