Some areas I feel we are weak.

-Freetaking: Without McDermott we are relying on Gearoid and Galligan from the right, neither are ideal. Jack Brady or Johnston from the left are more reliable. At this level, we need at least 1 high level freetaker which I'm not sure we have.
-Scoring: We kicked 9 wides in the first half against Galway and relied on completely dominating possession to create enough chances to allow for the low conversion rate. If we are to beat Tyrone it will have to improve.
-Poor decision making coming out of defence: Against Laois and Galway there were some instances of lads delaying on the ball and passing to a man in trouble. Other times there seemed to be an over enthusiasm to pick out a brilliant pass when it wasn't on and the ball was kicked right down the throat of the opposition. Hopefully we can support the man in possession all of the time giving him better options and cut down on these instances. (To be fair they are quite good at this at the moment)
-Movement inside: This was pointed out on the League Sunday show, we can be a bit static inside at times. I think Johnston's return (if he is going to be fit) will help with this.

Some areas I think we are strong.

-Pace and power going forward: No secret here, Argue and Gearoid raiding forward are difficult to stop once they get up a head of steam. The pace of McVeety and McLoughlin can cause overlaps. Hopefully with the wide hard pitch of Croker we can carve out a few goal opportunities.
- Ability to pick a pass: McVeety, Buchanan, Moynagh off the top of my head have all shown instances of quality distribution over the past few games. It has been the platform for some of our best attacking moves.
- The Bench: We can call on Mackey, Rory Dunne, Niall Murray, Eugene Keating. None would weaken the team or be considered as second string players.
-Mentally: Tyrone are heavy favourites for this game so we can go in without the pressure we would have had on our shoulders in the Roscommon game 2 years ago. In terms of game mentality, this league campaign we have overturned deficits, protected leads, we have buried teams, shot the lights out, slogged in dogfights. Whatever Tyrone bring on the day we will be confident we can answer it.

Buzzing for this game and I expect most of Cavan to descend on Croker. Best of luck to Terry and the lads.

Enda Reilly is a good free taker, though hasn't seen much action.

Jack Brady and Johnston are right footed, they wouldn't be that reliable taking a free from the left, cutting across the ball. They are good free takers from the right side obviously.

Lookin forwards to great game on Sunday it's a big day for us , lads will have to work very hard but if they show the fight we did again Galway we could do it. Expect team will be the same as last day, be great if Johnson is fit, but I'd rather see him kept back and have him for championship. Last year you were all crying about Terry and we needed to get rid of him, only a few of us true blues recognised the success he brought to us and that we should not change the course.

I have now been vindicated and will be further vindicated when the div 2 cup is coming down the road from Dublin on Sunday/Monday.

We now need to push on and take Ulster this summer which we should do given we have Armagh in the first round (div 3 standard) and should have the upper hand on Tyrone after Sundays Match. we wont be stopped in an Ulster final we have the best quality squad in Ulster now.

the future is blue and Terry is the man to lead us back to All Ireland glory. Come on !!!

Make no mistake this will a tough game for our lads. Tyrone will be strong favourites and rightly so. but this will show us what progress we have made and whether we win,lose or draw I hope we put in a good performance and everyone keeps their discipline. Same team for Sunday I feel two areas will be very important to manage and thats our backs stand up and be counted and that we control the middle of the park.
Play like you have for the last 15 minuets of the Derry match and the last five matches in the league and there is no reason why they cannot win the division trophy.
Please god complacency does not set and no one tightens up and reverts back to 2015 negative football.

I called it when I said we would win our last five games so for Sunday if they play the way they have been they will win but sadly if they revert to the 2015 game they will loose.
So let's hope the attitude is still the same as they finished the league off.
I am happy we are playing in Division 1 for 2017 and should they win Sunday it will be a bonus either way the best of luck for Sunday and the rest of the year.
