Either 23 July (If cavan dont progress past ulster semi or qualifier rd2) or 13th August if they get to ulster final/AI quarters. If Cavan reach AI Semi final, God knows!

That's not true! It can't be. Only way Championship wouldn't start until end of August is if Cavan get to All Ireland Semi Final!

If Cavan lose to Roscommon on Saturday week, the draft schedule released by fixtures for the senior championship states that round 9 of the league will be held on the weekend of July 18, preliminary championship games A (Killygarry/Killeshandra, Castlerahan/Kingscourt) will be held on July 23 and round 3 of the league will be held on the bank holiday weekend in August. The first round of the championship won't be until August 13-17.

It's not very clear what happens if Cavan win on Saturday week to progress to round 3 of the qualifiers…from what I can gather it looks as though the A preliminary games won't be held until August 13-17 but that scenario doesn't seem to be accommodated in the draft

Lockerrocker,this is not true as cavan play in the Junior All Ireland Semi Final on August 9th in England.so therefore there would be no football that weekend either !!!!

Maybe so but don't recall the championship being put on standby two years ago when Cavan reached the junior AI final? Can't remember to be honest. Anyway - the draft was issued back in late April so is bound to have been changed since!

Revised draft issued today peeps.
As follows:
If cavan lose against rossies all prelim round games of champ will be played between 18-27th july, first round proper Aug bank hol wknd
If cavan lose following wknd all prelim round games will be played 23rd July to 4th Aug, first round proper not until Aug 13th to account for Junior Semi in Edinburgh.
No ACFL games until Cavan are out of Qualifiers, possibly postponed Rd 3 games wknd of Aug 20-24th if Cavan juniors progress to AI final.
Same again if Cavan progress through another 2 rds of quals, except all dates kicked back a week.

So they couldn't just pick a weekend to play the preliminary round they had to leave it that it could happen anytime over the last 2 weeks of July!! Wat the hell is wrong wit them they can't give a bloody date and stick to it! If any of the teams have someone on the county let them decide if the game will go ahead!

I hear Jack Brady & Killian Brady went to the U.S. over the last few days. Be a loss to their respective clubs come champo time. Who is the money on this year. Mackey can't be fit for much game time ? Is dunne near recovered yet from his boxing injury ?

After Kingscourt's demolition of the gaels yesterday i would have to say they are early favourites. They played some great stuff.
