As you said above offaly would beat cavan if!! They sort their house out. In other words you have no reason why you placed them or others above cavan. I agree that you probably go to games as i do but you go in the hope that your own county will lose. Ur the personification of begrudgery. As i said before stop wasting your money on a team who you think are useless.

Cavan worry about playing Offaly every time facts They have a more resent All Ireland than Cavan facts. Time we got out of the fifties and started thinking about building a team we can admire and be proud to call a good team but sadly I think my age has caught up on me and while we have what we have I don't think I will live long enough to see some glory day's.
You will notice I am not shouting for Hylands head all I ask is that the county board get rid of the back room personal and hope that fresh blood will be brought in with new ideas. Then maybe we can move up the pecking order.

Both teams playing Div 2 next year so we could say we're equal there, but when it comes to the 2015 All Ireland Championship you have Cavan played 3 lost 2 on the other hand you have Fermanagh Played 4 (with at least another game to come) won 3 lost 1.Funnily enough our paths have being similiar as we've both been beaten by Monaghan and we've both beat Div 4 teams, so as the only other game we've both played has being against Roscommon we'll have to use that as the yardstick.We lost to Roscommon, Fermanagh beat Roscommon so I'd say yes we would be ranked below Fermanagh.

it's funny our score of 1:16 (v Roscommon) would have beaten quite a few teams yesterday (including both Fermanagh and Roscommon.

such a pity we couldn't defend a bit better.
our average concession in the league was 12.42 points per game. whereas our average concession the championship was 17.6

our scoring rate went up (20.66 in the championship) compared to 12.57 in the league.

we need to get the balance right.

S golderick your scoring averages don't add up because your using averages of 7 national league games against 3 championship games your averages show we scored more than we conceded over 3 games. Not a true reflection.

3 years ago we could have gone for McGrath as manager and had hyland as assistant to learn his trade from a master. But we went for An inexperienced Senior manager in Hyland and are now paying the price. Ppl say unlucky but I say inexperienced.

Scoring averages mean nothing in championship football as there's always a good chance you may play a team from a lower division which can bring your averages up (eg London).Dublins scoring averages would have rocketed since the league!!!On the other hand a county always wants to be compared to and compete against the best, in our case the best is the Div 1 counties.In this regard we played two Div 1 teams conceded an average of 21 pts and scored an ave. of 17 pts.What does this tell us ? feck all that we don't know already, we were beat in both games.Pity we didn't score 2-22 against the Rossies and not London!!!!

unlike some posters on here I deal in facts.

I don't form an opinion and then twist the stats to back it up. some people feel more comfortable when they think their prejudices are confirmed.

I chose to give all the championship results and scores whereas some other posters prefer to only deal with the bad results and pick out certain minutes in games that we didn't score (pathetic). i mean every team goes for long periods without scoring.
Martin... not sure why you are obsessed with the McKenna cup second half. Why are you not obsessed with the first half ?.

oh let me guess, because it doesn't suit your agenda. It's impossible to have a proper debate when one side doesn't deal in facts.
The only facts that matter are that the results have improved under Terry and I have proven this. no matter how loud you shout and no matter what portion of games in McKenna cups etc you choose to use there is no disputing it. We were a game away from promotion to div 1 whereas we were a game away from relegaion to div 4 beforehand (we didn't even beat Antrim to save our skins..we had to rely on the result of the Ofally v Tipperary match to save us from the drop. If we keep improving for the next 4 years I certainly will be happy, whoever is in charge.

s goldrick - if you want to deal in facts, why didn't you name the 3 teams that we played in 2015, was it because the second team we played was London, which is the game where we accumulated most of those high scores you are talking about.

As for the McKenna Cup, go back to my post in Jan/Feb, I praised the 1st half performance but was rightly critical of the 2nd half performance, because management got it so wrong, like they did in all the other important matches we've played.

Hence the reason why Terry has brought the team as far as it can go....time to move on
