A Cavan Man for the IRS?

(Oldest Posts First)

I see the Ireland team are training away for the International Rules Test below in Oz in Novmeber. I could be wrong but I assume there is no Cavan Man even in the extended training panel? Do we really have no player capable of getting into the training squad. A pity. When was the last Cavan man to play IRS? God I remember the crack when big Dermot gave a MoM display against Oz way back in 98 or 99. Then d buzz in croker when larry got on the ball a few years later! So it must be ten years since a Cavan man played for Eire?

Is he the only cavan man on the panel. Would have thought Giveny, Keating or Mackey would have being worth a shot

Mackey has been hampered by Injury all year, Givney's form was very poor this year and Keating very hit and miss this year too.

Yeah agree with FoolsGold, G Mck would be the only current Cavan player worthy of a place on the panel

Have to disagree - think Givney is a better footballer than Gearoid - he contributed hugely to Cavans great run in 2013 when Mc Kiernan was injured and had to make way then at midfield this year and was almost always played out of position - thats why he hadnt a great year also think Keating would be worth a trial in Irish panel.
