New Chairman of Cavan Supporters Club (Dublin) Branch

The Cavan GAA Supporters Club, Dublin Branch held their 18th annual general meeting in Myo’s, Castleknock recently. Brian McInerney was elected at Chairman for the coming year.

At a well-attended meeting the events and activities for the year were reviewed. Outgoing Chairman Gerry Brady opened the meeting and Secretary Michael Martin presented a detailed report of the club’s activity and contribution to the Cavan county team training funds.

Highlights for year included the successful Golf classic at Westmanstown Golf Club and the now well established Race Day in Fairyhouse. Through the various fund-raising activities the club contributed over §40,000 to Cavan County Board.

The Co. Board was well represented at the meeting and led by Chairman Phil Smith, thanked the committee and club for their continued support.

A presentation was made by the outgoing Chairman Gerry Brady to Tom Boylan to mark his 27 year tenure as Treasurer of the Co. Board and his recent retirement from that position.

The following committee was elected for 2008; President: Brother Oliver Brady; Chairman: Brian McInerney; Secretary: Michael Martin; Treasurer: Seamus McCabe; PRO :Brian Heerey. Committee - Owen McCabe, Finbar Brady, John McKiernan, Brian Reilly, Peter Galligan and Raymond Reilly.

The committee are now planning the 2008 events with a social event planned for early April and the main event being the 18th Annual Golf Classic in Westmanstown Golf Club on Friday 2nd May. Membership is now open for 2008 with adult membership costing §20.
