'Jayo' plotting against former charges

April 19, 2017

Cavan Gaels manager Jason O'Reilly.

Former Cavan forward Jason O'Reilly will find himself in a peculiar spot this weekend when he looks to steer Cavan Gaels past his native Belturbet.

Belturbet were successful in their promotion quest to Division 1 last season under O'Reilly and since then the Breffni County's 1997 goal hero has taken up the reins at Terry Coyle Park, replacing former Cavan team mate Anthony Forde and winning his first two games in charge with the club.

Saturday evening's game at the Cavan town venue sees the Rories looking for their second league win, having defeated Ballinagh in round one and lost out to Castlerahan last weekend, and going by early form it'll be a tough challenge for joint managers Padraig Dolan and Adrian McGovern and their players.

Elsewhere in Division 1, senior champions Ramor United travel to 2013 winners Ballinagh, Kingscourt Stars welcome Lacken, Castlerahan face Cootehill and Mullahoran take on Cuchulainns, while there'll also be plenty of interest when intermediate champions Arva make the short trip to Gowna.
