BUSFAS Championships and Cycle in aid of SOSAD
Everyone at Ballinagh GAA would like to thank all those who sponsored, donated, helped out, participated in and supported the BUSFAS Championships on St. Stephens Day and made it a huge success. A fantastic days entertainment was had and was followed by a night of craic in Cronins at the presentations. Along with Ballinagh Cycle we raised over €4'500 for the Cavan Branch SOSAD. The winners of the BUSFASL Championship were The Gownas, captained by Shauna Fitzpatrick while the winners of the BUSFAS Championship were The Pique Blinders captained by Niall O'Reilly. The MVP of the tournament went to Shane Finnegan while the prestigious Donkey of the Tournament went to Enda Brady.

Feile 2017
The National Feile Under 14 All Ireland competition will be taking place from Friday the 23rd of June until Sunday the 25th of June 2017. The competition will be taking place in Cavan, Monaghan and Fermanagh. The Ballinagh Under 14 Team will be participating in this prestigious competition, in where they will host a visiting club on that weekend, with the visiting club to be confirmed. This is a wonderful opportunity for the Under 14s to participate in competition, meet new friends, and have an opportunity to have a great weekend of fun and enjoyment. As part of our identity, it is hoped to fully kit out all the team, as well as purchase football bags.
There will be a few upcoming fundraisers for the Feile Competition, so please support these fundraisers where possible. Information will appear on Facebook page and club notes about these fundraisers, and if anyone wants more information on this, you can contact Ballinagh GAA Feile Officer Julia Dunne on 086.2284655.

Shave or Dye Night in Aid of Children of Chernobyl
As part of her role as Cavan Rose, Gortahurk native Lisa Reilly will be hosting a fundraising night for the Children of Chernobyl. This fundraiser will be a shave, dye or wax night in which local celebrities will be either shaving their heads or dying their hair a funky colour, with a few others getting rid of some excess body hair with wax strips. There will be finger food, music, a raffle agus craic and all will take place in Cronins on the 28th of January from 8pm and it will be great to see a big crowd to support this event as it promises to be a great night

Cavan
Congratulations to Niall McDermott and the Cavan senior team on their first win of the season in the first round of the McKenna cup against champions Tyrone.. Everyone at Ballinagh are delighted to see Niall back in the blue jersey after a very tough 12 months with injury and we wish him the best for the coming year. Niall started the game and got on the score sheet before receiving a second yellow card and red in the second half, this however had no bearing on the result as Cavan were well in control of the outcome.

Thomas Smith
Congratulations to Thomas 'Bun' Smith who received his medal this past weekend for the successful Cavan U16 side that won the Gerry Reilly tournament in 2016. Let's hope this is one of many medals Thomas wins in the future for both Cavan and Ballinagh.
