Cavan County Board has received the all clear to relegate three teams from this year's senior football championship.

The Anglo-Celt reports that the Breffni County have successfully appealed an Ulster Council ruling which had originally denied them permission.

The provincial body claimed that Cavan were in breach of Rule 3.30J of the Official Guide.

Not content with that decision, county officials appeared before the Appeals Committee - which ruled in their favour - at Croke Park on Monday night.

The senior relegation play-offs will proceed as soon as possible, according to The Anglo-Celt.
