Graham proud of charges

September 23, 2016

Former Cavan footballer Mickey Graham hailed his St Columba's Mullinalaghta charges as they reached this year's Longford SFC final.

Mullinalaghta defeated three-in-a-row chasing Killoe in last weekend's semi final and now go on to the final where they will face either Abbeylara or Dromard.

Graham was thrilled with his side's work ethic, but he stressed to the Longford Leader that they had nothing won yet.

"Everyone stood up to the mark," stated Graham. "There wasn't one man that shied away from the challenge. I'm delighted for the players. It's down to them and they deserve it.

He added: "We are delighted just to be in it and we are not going to talk about anything else until we see who we are going to play.

"We've got our foot in the door. We are there and I think we deserve to be there because of the performances we have put in this year.

"We look at our group at the start of the year and looked at the strong teams in it and we said don't be surprised two of these teams meet up in the final and that's the way it's going to be."
