Joe Baxter Rest in Peace

We were all left shock and stunned at the sudden death of our dear friend Joe Baxter, Greagh, Corlough who died suddenly on 15th August. Joe was a genuine gentleman and supported every fundraiser we held over the years.  Joes death will be an awful loss to his loving wife Marion his daughters Annette, Siobhan, Josephine & Marion, which he was so proud of along with his sister Mary Rose and his brother Liam, his uncle Jim and a large circle of family members.  Joe had no enemies, he was a great neighbour, he had so many friends that enjoyed his company, he loved to play cards and he loved children, he always had a great welcome for them and delighted in seeing them do well in sport or at school, his old work mates from Boxmore plastics held him in very high regard and this was evident at Joe's retirement party.  We will miss Joe very much, we will miss his witty banter, his love of the countryside, he enjoyed the simple things in life like his farm, his vegetable plot, his trips to the bog and his dog Charlie.  We know that heaven will benefit by getting one great man thats gone to his eternal reward. God bless you Joe, sleep tight till we meet again. From your friends in Corlough GAA Club.

Fr Tom McManus

Good luck to Fr Tom who will be leaving Corlough shortly, huge numbers turned out to bid fair well to him last Saturday night at his going away party.  Noelle Kelleher presented Fr Tom with a gift from the Club in recognition of all the work he done with our club and our underage teams over the years, he also supported our fundraisers and sold tickets for us over the years.  We wish Fr Tom every best wish for his future and thank him for his hard work during his time in Corlough.
