U6s

U6 training continues in Stradone on Saturday morning at 10am. New children always welcome.

 

U8s/U10s

Our U8s/U10 training is Saturday morning at 10am. Please remember to bring your gum shields.  

 

U12s

U12 training continues as normal. The summer league is in full swing and we played Drumlane at home on Monday last. The boys are working really hard in training, so please support them when you can.

 

U14s

Our U14s played Ramor United in Stradone on Tuesday last and having gone behind worked hard to level and then get in front. Full time score Laragh 2-19 Ramor United 3-10. They will play Castlerahan away on Tuesday the 4th of August in the second round of the championship. Training continues as normal.

 

U16s

Our U16s game against Knockbride was postponed last week but the lads played Kingscourt last night (Tuesday). Results on line. They now play Blackwater gaels in Mountnugent on Monday evening at 7.30pm. Please support the team.

 

Minors

Our minors continue to train in preparation for the championship which will now start on the Tuesday the 9th of August. The lads will play Annalee Gaels in the first round.

 

Juniors

Our juniors traveled to Shercock to play the second round of the championship on Friday evening last and having played well got the win. Full time score Shercock 3-13 Laragh 4-15. They will have no game now before the 7th of August.

 

Senior Football

Our senior team were back in action last weekend when they welcomed Templeport to Stradone on Sunday last in the ACFL. Laragh secured their 6 win of the league to date. Full time score Laragh 1-13 Templeport 1-08. They now face a busy weekend with Ballymachugh in Sheelin Park on Friday evening at 8pm and Cornafean in Stradone on Sunday at 2pm. Please show your support. The intermediate Chamionship is due to begin the following weekend. 

 

County Football

The county U16s put in a super performance on Saturday last and beat Wicklow in the Gerry Reilly. Full time score Cavan 8-19 Wicklow 0-07. So Cavan now play Dublin in the cup final on Sunday evening at 7.30pm in Millbrook. Cavan are going for three in a row and all at Laragh United wish Jake McGovern and the Cavan lads good luck.

 

County Camogie

Our county U16s played Armagh on Sunday last in Lacken and again played some really good camogie to get their third league win. Full time score Cavan 8-07 Armagh 2-02. The girls now play Carlow on Sunday (venue to be confirmed but is home fixture) in their final league game, before semi finals which they have now qualified for. This is a great achievement and we wish them well. The club wish Aoife Coyle, Niamh Keeaghan, Clodagh Keeaghan, Emma Plunkett, Megan McKenna, Sinead Cahill and Ashling Keeaghan good luck.

 

Camogie

Our senior camogs had to battle hard on Wednesday last in Ballinagh having gone behind following three quick goals by Casletara in the first round of the senior championship. And work hard they did to get the win. Full time score Castletara 3-06 Laragh 3-09. They will have had to up their game as they played Lacken in the second rd yesterday evening (Tuesday). Result on twitter and Facebook.

Congratulations to Ciara Sheils of Caulfield who was part of the western Australia team who won the Camogie league final in Perth last weekend. Keep up the good work.

 

Lotto

Kellogg's Cul Camps

This years Cul Camp will run in Stradone from the 8th of August until the 12th. The cost pre child is €55, €45 for the 2nd child and €40 for the 3rd and subsequent children. You can register on-line until 12 noon the Friday before camp begins or at Kngspan Breffni Park. Registration is also available on the Monday morning. This is a great way for kids to spend a week with their friends which learning some of the skills of the games.

 

All Inclusive Cul Camp

A join initiative between Cavan Sports Partnership and Cavan GAA.

A cul camp for Children aged 6 to 15 years with a disability will take place in Duke Park, Stradone on the 3rd and 4th of August. This camp is unique in that it can cater for children with physical, Intellectual, learning and sensory disabilities. Ulster University offering Gaelic Football Scholarships for 2016/2017
Ulster University has announced that once again it will be offering GAA High Performance Sport Scholarships in its Gaelic Football Scholarship Programme for the 2016/2017 season. The Ulster University will award scholarships specifically to students who are competing and succeeding at the highest level. For further information and details on the Scholarship Scheme please send expressions of interest to the University GAA Coordinator, Paul Rouse by email to [email protected]
