Paddy Duffy RIP

We received a beautiful thank you from the family of the late Paddy Duffy which they wanted us to share with our readers:

Gerry, Emer and all Paddy's family would like to express their appreciation at the many tributes paid to Paddy following his passing on 1st June - R.I.P.

We really appreciate the guard of honour, so well attended by young and old at his removal, the flags flying at half-mast at the field and the minute's silence held before the game and in Feehans later that evening.Thanks also to Hugh for his speech, so well-worded as usual.

We are very grateful to the club for inviting him to plant the tree with Stephen at the La na gClub celebrations and he laughed at being reminded of his keen eye as a linesman!

In his long life, he was blessed with a strong faith, great neighbours & friends, good humour and a positive outlook which was all he needed to live a happy & fulfilled life in the place he loved. We hope that his way of living, as like so many of his generation, will serve as a true example of how to appreciate what is really important in life.

His loyalty to his club was returned in full, and was a measure of the respect that he was held in. We deeply appreciate that respect, and wish everyone involved in Corlough GFC many successful years ahead, both on and off the field.
