Football News

 

Well done to Cavan Seniors who snatched a draw against Tyrone last Sunday in a very wet Clones. Both sides served up a great game in difficult conditions and the replay will take place in Clones on next Sunday week.

Congratulations to Cavan Ladies who recorded a great win in the Ulster Championship semi-final against Donegal by one point, 1-9 to 1-8. They now play in the Ulster Senior Championship Final for the first time. Go neirí leo.

Many thanks to all who organised, helped out and attended last Saturday's Girls Blitz in Terry Coyle Park. Five teams took part in U10 and U12 matches and a great morning was had by all.

 

Golf Classic

Garda Vetting 

 

Garda vetting is now online. Photographic ID & proof of address required & must be verified by Childrens Officer before uploading on application form. Go to www.gaa.ie. Choose The GAA, click on Child Protection , then on  Vetting .

Family Carers Association

Cavan Gaels GAA will partner the Family Carers Association in their National Bag Pack Collection 2016 in Dunnes Stores , Church Street Cavan branch. This year the event will take place on Friday 22nd July at branches of Dunnes Stores across the country.Since January, Family Carers Ireland is the new name of The Carers Association. This follows a merger last year with another organisation, Caring for Carers. The merger has resulted in the bringing together of the best elements of both organisations while broadening the range of services and supports provided to family carers.Can you assist by giving an hour or more of your time? Poker Classic

 

Cavan Gaels Men and Ladies will host a poker classic on next Saturday 25th June in Cavan Poker Rooms on Railway Road. The competition begins at 7p.m. Please support.

 

Under-Age Coaching for boys and girls

 

Coaching for juveniles takes place in Terry Coyle Park every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:30. U8, U10, U12 Girls begin at 10 a.m. and boys from 11 a.m. New members and enquiries are always welcome. Tornadoes

 

Gaelic football training for 4-6 year old boys and girls takes place every Saturday in Terry Coyle Park from 11am-12 noon. New players are very welcome. For further information on the Tornadoes please contact John Fortune 087-6196002 or Cian Donohoe 086-1295963. Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí.

 

Juvenile Camogie

 

Juvenile Camogie takes place every Wednesday in Terry Coyle Park at 6 p.m. New members and beginners are welcome. For more info. contact Mary at 087 7532979.

 

Bingo

 

Bingo will continue on Friday 24th June 2016 in the Ozanam Centre in River St. at 9 p.m. Please note the new venue. €2170 in total must be won on the night. Thanks to all our loyal bingo patrons for their continued support.

 

Circuit Training

 

Circuit Training for all ages and fitness levels, male and female, every Saturday morning at 11 in the new clubrooms. Sessions now also take place on Tues. and Thurs. at 6.30 p.m. All welcome.
