Golf Classic

 With just over a week to our golf classic  which takes place on the 3rd of June in Cavan golf club its all hands on deck to get everything in place.  If anyone would like to sponsor a tee box please contact Michael on 0872421704.The presentation of prizes will be in the Cross that night with music by Malt. Senior Football

Our senior team were defeated by Killinkere on Sunday last by 2 points in the Spring league final played in Dolan Park, Virginia. Full time score Killinkere 0-17 Laragh 1-12. With our next ACFL game against Killinkere the lads will be hopeful of a better result.

The lads are taking part in a 7 a-side tournament in aid of Cavan/Monaghan palliative care and Night Nurse services, at Drung Gfc grounds on Saturday starting at 4.30pm. Should be a good evenings football so please support this good cause.

 

Junior Football. 

Our junior team were away to Shercock on Saturday last and came away with a good win. Full time score Shercock 1-11 Laragh 1-15. Our next game is Friday evening away to Killinkere in Jim Smith Park at 7.30pm.

 

U16s

Our U16 team were defeated by a strong Dernacrieve Gaels in the division 2 league semi final in Redhills on Tuesday evening last. Full time score Dernacrieve Gaels 4-10 Laragh 2-08. We wish Dernacrieve gaels all the best for the final.

 

U14s

Our U14 team made the short trip to our neighbours Knockbride on Friday evening last and lost by the narrowest of margins 1 point. Full time score Knockbride 5-08 Laragh 5-07. We will now play Cavan Gaels in Terry Coyle Park on the 2nd of June at 7.30pm.

 

U8s/U10s

Our U8s and U10s managements would like to thank the Killygarry club for their hospitality and the great games played there on Saturday last.

 

Camogie

Our senior camogie team were beaten on Sunday last in Stradone by Castletara in the senior league. Full time score Laragh 0-05 Castletara 2-03.

Training continues on Wednesday 7.30pm and Friday at 8.45pm.

Our senior camogs travel to Dunboyne in Co.Meath on Saturday to play in the Molly Watters 7 a-side tournament. With teams from Cavan, Offaly, Wexford, Kilkenny, Louth, Wicklow, Kildare, Dublin and Meath taking part its a great test for our girls.

Well done to our division 3 schools team who had a good win over Belturbet on Thursday last.

U14 camogie training is Wednesday at 6.30pm

Our U9, U11 and U13s are taking part in the Camogie development day on Saturday in Killinkere. This is always a great days camogie.We wish them well.

 

Pyjama walk

Our juvenile club both football and camogie are having a sponsored pyjama walk on Sunday the 12th of June. Sponsorship cards are out and all juvenile players have them. Please support.

 

Nancy O'Rourke Tournament

The camogie club will run this tournament on Sunday the 5th of June. 17 clubs have been invited. The tournament has not run for a couple of year and it is hoped to be back this year bigger and better. It's a 7 aside competition for senior teams. It should be a great day. More details to follow.

Tickets can be purchased at Kingspan Breffni Park, Supervalu, Centra and Usual outlets.NOTE: SENIOR CITIZEN AND STUDENT TICKETS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE WITH VALID ID THROUGH CLUBS AND COUNTY BOARDS. U16s are free.

 

Cavan Rally Stages

Reminder to our club members that the Cavan Rally takes place Sunday. As part of the rally is in Laragh please check for road closures if heading to Breffni Park.

 

Cavan senior team

We wish Terry Hyland and his senior footballers all the best on Sunday when they take on Armagh in the 1st round of the Ulster senior championship, in Kingspan Breffni Park at 3.30pm.

 

Cavan Minor Team.

The county minors also take on Armagh in their opening game of the Championship. We wish Danny Brady and his team good luck. All at Laragh United particularly wish Eoghan Cooney and Lee Reilly the best of luck.

 

 

UP FOR THE MATCH
Cavan GAA are hosting a special Up For The Match club/board fundraiser on Thursday, May 26 in the Hotel Kilmore.The night will feature a panel-style debate, chaired by Damien Donohoe of Northern Sound radio, and confirmed guests are Oisin McConville, Colm O'Rourke, Seamus McEnaney and Declan Bogue.

Tickets cost €20 and are available through clubs & county officers.
Doors open at 7.30pm sharp.It's a fantastic line-up and with the event taking place just three days before we host Armagh in the Ulster Championship, a brilliant night is guaranteed.

Kellogg's Cul Camps

Its getting to that time of year again and the Cul camp will take place in PJ Duke park from the 8th of August until the 12th. The cost is €55 for the 1st child, €45 for the 2nd child and €40 for the 3rd and subsequent children. If you register online or in Kingspan Breffni park prior to the 1st of June your child will receive their half zip and T shirt in the month of June.

 

GAA Garda Vetting
