Eddie O'Reilly
The club wishes to congratulate former player Eddie O'Reilly on his marriage over the weekend to Michaela Bryan in North Carolina, USA. We wish them many years of happiness together.
Quiz
Thank you to all of the 24 teams who took part in and supported our inaugural battle of the townlands quiz. Thanks especially to our quizmaster on the night Donie Deneher who posed lots of tricky questions to keep everyone guessing. The winners on the night were Drumcorr who beat Drumgore/Drumhowra in a tiebreak. The Drumcorr representatives were Killian Brady, Julie Brady, Philip Brady and Paul Brady. We will make this an annual event and hope that all of our townlands in the parish as well as surrounding areas will be represented next time out.
Rounders
Hard luck to Erne Eagles ladies who were defeated in the All-Ireland Senior Ladies Rounders final on Sunday gone by. The game was played in excellent conditions in Kildare centre of excellence, Hawkfield, Newbridge. Bagnelstown from Carlow were the opposition and ran out winners in an entertaining match.
Senior Championship
Mullahoran took on Ballinagh on Saturday evening last in Breffni park. The weather for once was in our favour and the pitch was in excellent condition. In a game that was close the whole way Mullahoran recovered from an early penalty to be the slightly more dominant team though not enough to push on for victory. The game ended in a draw Ballinagh 1-8 to Mullahoran 0-11. The replay will take place this Wednesday September 2nd at 8:15pm in the same venue (assuming all electrical issues are resolved). Anyone on the club text alert system will get an update if there is a change or you can keep an eye on www.mullahorangaa.ie.
