Denn G.F.C. Legends Cup
Last Weekend had the conclusion of the Denn Legends Football Tournament. Proceedings kicked off at 4.30 pm on Saturday with the Shield Semi Finals which had Denn V's Castlerahan and Mullahoran V's Drumalee. Denn defeated their near neighbours on a scoreline of 3.8 to 0.5 and Drumalee overcame Mullahoran by 12 points to 1.4.So it would be Denn v's Drumalee in the Shield Final.  In a tight first half in which the heavens opened as the teams took to the filed Drumalee were leading 1.01 to 2 points but the Denn men had drawn level at half time to leave the score 4 points to 1.1. Denn got the first two scores of the second half but Drumalee pulled that back by the 6th Minute. Denn went into a three point lead by the 15th Minute of the second half and they wouldn't loose that lead for the rest of the Game. The Full time score ended up 12 points to 1.4.  So Congratulations to Denn on winning the Legends Shield for 2015.
In the Cup Semi finals
Crosserlough played Ballyhaise, with Crosserlough coming out on top here with a Final Score of 13 point to 3. In the other semi -final, Killygarry played Lavey and Killygarry won this one by 3.10 to 2.2. So in the first Legends Cup final we had Killygarry v's Crosserlough. In an extremely tight first half where both teams traded point for point the score was also level at half time with both teams having 4 points a piece. Early into the second half Crosserlough got what would prove to be the decisive score in a goal. Killygarry did getto within two points of Crosserlough but they were unable to close the gap. In what proved to be a very competitive game with some great scores and skills of the game were on show Crosserlough came out on top 1.7 to 7.
So a big Congratulations to Crosserlough on winning the Denn Legends Cup 2015.
After the games and the players had rehydrated the Man of the Match Awards were presented in Carraig Springs. In the Shield Final Pauric Mc Govern from Denn Won the Award and In the Cup Final Karl Maguire from Crosserlough took home the honour. A great day was had by all and a big thanks must go out to all the Teams that took part and to everyone who donated to the two Charities.
Also a word of thanks to our Joint Sponsers the Carraig Springs and Mc Daids Pharmacy Group.
