The stage is set for an exciting final round of football league games next Sunday, here's who caught our eye over the penultimate weekend ...

1. Graham Brody (Laois)

The O'Moore County netminder can consider himself somewhat unfortunate to have ended up on the losing side on Saturday night.

2. Jason McLoughlin (Cavan)

Cavan kept their promotion hopes alive with a five point victory over Westmeath and corner-back McLoughlin made a timely intervention to deny the Lake County a goal in the 15th minute.

3. Rory O'Carroll (Dublin)

The emphasis was very much on defending in Croke Park on Saturday evening and the Dublin full-back played his part in limiting Derry to two points from play over the 70 minutes.

4. Vinny Corey (Monaghan)

Detailed to do a man-marking job on Kieran Donaghy in Austin Stack Park, the experienced defender succeeded in curbing the Kingdom captain's influence.

5. Gary Reynolds (Leitrim)

Leitrim restricted hosts Carlow to just five points from play and centre-back Reynolds particularly stood out for the Connacht outfit.

6. Ryan McCluskey (Fermanagh)

The experienced McCluskey and his Fermanagh team-mates secured promotion to Division 2 courtesy of their 1-12 to 0-7 success over Wexford in Innovate Wexford Park.

7. Ryan McHugh (Donegal)

Donegal secured their Division 1 status with a 10 point defeat of Tyrone (1-13 to 0-6) and the industrious McHugh netted the game's only goal.

8. Conor Gillespie (Meath)

Gillespie's return from a cruciate ligament injury is encouraging for the Royals as he produced a top class display of high fielding against Down in Pairc Esler on Saturday evening.

9. Darren Hughes (Monaghan)

Monaghan celebrated their first competitive victory over Kerry in 27 years and midfielder Hughes' work-rate was a vital ingredient in Malachy O'Rourke's side's winning formula.

10. Michael Quinn (Longford)

The versatile Quinn starred as Longford got the better of 12-man Offaly on home turf to clinch promotion.

11. Damien Comer (Galway)

Comer's 44th minute goal against Roscommon helped Galway ease their relegation worries and the Tribesman's U-21 captain also pointed a 45 for good measure.

12. Martin McElhinney (Donegal)

A black card late on failed to take the gloss off an excellent individual performance from McElhinney in Donegal's surprisingly convincing win over Tyrone.

13. Alan Smith (Kildare)

The Lilywhite live wire caused plenty of headaches for the Laois full-back line as Jason Ryan's side staged a late smash and grab raid in O'Moore Park.

14. Lorcan Mulvey (London)

The Cavan native bagged a hat-trick of goals as the Exiles shared the Division 4 spoils with Waterford in Ruislip.

15. Brian Hurley (Cork)

Hurley's late punched goal proved to be the difference between the Rebels and Mayo in Pairc Ui Rinn.
