Cavan's Cian Mackey

Cavan will be bidding for their first home win of Division 2 when they play host to Westmeath at Kingspan Breffni Park on Saturday evening.

With valuable league points at stake, 2013 All Star nominee Cian Mackey is hoping they can build on their win over Galway last time out and says promotion is still the target for the Breffni County.

"We lost our two home games and we felt under severe pressure but this is such a good group of lads," the Castlerahan clubman outlined to The Irish Independent.

"We just rose to what we needed to rise to and got a good win against a great Galway team.

"In Division 2 it is dog eat dog, anyone can beat anyone, we have seen it.

"Kildare lost the first three games and they gave us a hell of a beating in Breffni Park.

"They are going to pick up more points and it is anyone's guess for promotion and relegation.

"Promotion is still on the cards for us. It's all in our own hands."
