Mental Health
The HSE has launched a new mental health initiative called Little Things. It has a five point plan for good mental health which includes advice on keeping active, talking about your problems, looking out for others and drinking less alcohol. Alan O Mara, Cavan GAA player, has urged people to get involved with this initiative. On the same subject the GAA has developed a pack called Play in my Boots in partnership with St Patrick's Mental Health Foundation which is aimed at all who play sport. This pack can be downloaded from the website gaa.ie People are reminded that there are many resources available dealing with mental health. Use them if you feel the need to. Help is always available. Let's take the stigma out of the subject of mental health. It's ok to say you're not ok. The Freecall number of the Samaritans is 116 123.
