Seniors
Our seniors finished the season on a hugely disappointing note missing out on promotion to Division 1B courtesy of our 1-12 to 0-12 defeat to Drumlane in the promotion play-off in St.Aidan's Park, Bawnboy on Friday night last. Brendan Fitzpatrick's brace of points had us 0-2 to 0-0 ahead after 11 minutes but Drumlane hit a real purple patch to hit 1-7 without reply. Trailing by 1-8 to 0-3 at half time a huge second half performance was needed. Whilst the lads outscored Drumlane by 0-9 to 0-4 in the second half we couldn't pierce the Drumlane defence for that vital goal. The club would like to thank our Senior manager Jason O'Reilly and his selectors Vinnie Fitzpatrick, JJ Murphy and Liam McCabe for all their dedication mentoring the team throughout the year. We would also like to thank the panel of players for the effort and commitment they have put in since last January, we have a very young squad who no doubt will come back stronger next year and we have some very exciting players coming up through the underage ranks who will strengthen our playing resources in the future.
West Cavan Gaels U21's
Commiserations to West Cavan Gaels U21's(Belturbet, Templeport, Swanlinbar, Shannon Gaels & Kildallan) on their 1-13 to 0-15 defeat to St.Joseph's(Arva, Killeshandra & Drumlane) in the Quarter Final of the Division 1 U21 Championship in the 3G Pitch, Kingspan Breffni Park on Sunday last.
Intermediate Player of the Year
Congratulations to our Senior forward Brendan Fitzpatrick who has been nominated for the 2014 Intermediate Player of the year award alongside Cootehill's Enda Hessin and Ballyhaise's Kevin Tierney. The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony which takes place this Friday night November 21st in the Hotel Kilmore.
Belturbet Ladies
Belturbet Ladies Football Club are hosting a Christmas Afternoon in the Belturbet Town Hall on Saturday December 6th. Tea, Homebakes, Crafts, Lucky Dip, Art, Books, Entertainment and Plenty more. More details to follow over the next few weeks, all welcome.
Gaa Club National Draw
The club are selling GAA National club draw tickets for 2015 with the price of a ticket €10 each. There are 15 excellent prizes on offer including travel packages, shopping vouchers and lots more. We would appreciate your support in purchasing tickets.
Juvenile Table Quiz
Belturbet GAA Juvenile Committee are holding a table quiz on Friday 5th December at 8:30 p.m in the Seven Horseshoes. Entry for a team of 4 people is €40, we look forward to welcoming everyone for an evening of trivia and fun.
AGM
The club AGM is provisionally scheduled to take place on Sunday December 7th at 5pm.
Underage Ladies Training
Training has now ended for the year, however Zumba fitness classes take place every Wednesday over the winter period in Belturbet Fitness Centre, senior infants up to 4th class 5pm - 6pm, 5th class up to 3rd year 6pm to 7pm, cost € 3.00 per class.
Foundation Level Coaching Course
Level 1 Coaching course takes place in Kingspan Breffni Park this Saturday November 22nd. Any coaches in Belturbet interested in doing any of these courses please contact Aaron Donohoe on 0877950475 asap.
