Commiserations to our Seniors who bowed out of the Intermediate Championship at the Quarter Final Stage after suffering a 2-12 to 3-6 defeat to Shercock in the second replay on Saturday night last in Kingspan Breffni Park. Shercock flew out of the traps and opened up a 1-4 lead by the eight minute of the first half. A goal apiece from Jason O'Reilly and Niall Lawlor and a free from Jason saw us draw level at 1-4 to 2-1. Niall Lawlor bagged a penalty in the 26th minute to leave us trailing at half time by 2-6 to 3-1. The second half was tit for tat with the crucial moment arriving late in the second half when Stuart Dunne's brilliant goal was disallowed by referee Margaret Farrelly which would have tied the game up. The lads couldn't pierce the Shercock defence to nab that all important equalising goal and so ended this year's championship campaign. Hard luck to the management team of Jason O'Reilly, JJ Murphy and Vinnie Fitzpatrick and the panel of players who have put in a huge commitment since last January. Our seniors have two league games left at home to Arva and away to Laragh to complete our season. Minor Ladies
Commiserations to our Minor Ladies who were defeated by Shercock in the Minor Division 2 Championship Final on a 3-5 to 0-12 scoreline in Jim Smith Memorial Park, Killinkere on Saturday last.
New Cavan Minor Manager
Congratulations to Danny the Gunner Brady from Mullahoran who has been appointed as the new Cavan Minor Manager. Best of luck in their new roles also to Larry Reilly and Andy McGovern who will act as minor selectors.
All Ireland Hurling Final Ticket Draw
The club draw for the All Ireland Hurling Final tickets replay takes place tonight Wednesday. U14's
Hard luck to our U14's were defeated by 4-16 to 6-7 by Ballinagh at home on Monday week last in Division 3A Championship. Our U14's were then defeated by 6-19 to 3-11 by Cuchulainns in Mullagh on Monday evening last September 22nd. Our U14's face Maghera at home on Monday evening next September 29th at 6.15 p.m in Rory O'Moore Park.
Breffni All Star Team
Congratulations to Damien O'Reilly who was named at midfield on the Breffni All Star Team of the Week for Week 5 for his performance in the first drawn match with Shercock. Congrats also to our player/manager Jason O'Reilly who was named manager of the week for Week 5. Congratulations to Brendan Fitzpatrick who was named in the Breffni All Star Team of the week for Week 6 at wing forward for his performance in the first replay v Shercock.
