Castlerahan have lodged an objection which looks set to hold up the progress of the Cavan senior football championship this weekend.
The appeal comes after the club's controversial qualifier defeat to Mullahoran last Sunday night at Kingspan Breffni Park, where a sufficient amount of time was not played in the first-half of extra-time before the flood lights shut off, according to Castlerahan.
It is thought that around eight and a half minutes of the mandatory 10 were played when referee Tony Gregory was forced to call half-time after the lights went out, with Castlerahan leading by 2-9 to 1-11. The Ballyjamesduff side would go on to lose the game by a single point after the lights came back on for the second-half, following a 15-minute delay, and club officials are thought to be determined to pursue all avenues in an effort to overturn the result.
Cavan's Competitions Control Committee (CCC) are expected to meet tonight to consider the objection.
Mullahoran have already been scheduled to take on champions Ballinagh in the quarter-finals this Sunday evening (throw-in 7.30pm), but no officials have been confirmed as of yet for the fixture.
