Seniors
Our seniors drew 1-11 apiece with Shercock in the Intermediate Championship Quarter Final last Friday night in Kingspan Breffni Park. A Niall Lawlor penalty in the 11th minute saw us hold an early 1-2 to 0-1 lead having just seen influential forward Enda Henry blackcarded very early on. Shercock began to get a grip on proceedings and we were indebted to Danny who made some fine saves in the goal to prevent Shercock from raising a green flag. Shercock took a 0-8 to 1-4 lead into the half time interval. Shercock moved 1-11 to 1-7 ahead with a 46th minute goal from Ryan Clerkin but two points apiece from Brendan Fitzpatrick and Jason O'Reilly saw us draw level by the 54th minute. Cian Vaughan became our second man to pick up a black card late on as we searched for that elusive winning point. Neither side could find a late winner and so we must meet again this Saturday evening September 13th at 6.30 p.m in Kingspan Breffni Park. Belturbet team v Shercock: Danny Anscombe; Shane Fitzpatrick (0-1), Peter Shannon, Mark Lawlor; Mark Teevan, Kevin McConnell(C), Damien O'Reilly (0-3, 1f); Cian Vaughan, Eoin McGuigan; Donal McDonald, Enda Henry(VC), Brendan Fitzpatrick (0-5, 3f); Barry O'Reilly, Niall Lawlor (1-0, 1 pen), Stuart Dunne.
