Race Night : Don't forget Saturday night 27th September in Mc Seain's, Cornafean GFC will have their annual fundraiser race night which will help to defer  the cost of all the recent developments carried out at the club's grounds. Horse's are on sale at the moment from club members and all support is greatly appreciated…...
Lotto : There was no winner of this weeks lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 1, 5, 12 and 26. The €40 winners were Seamus O'Reilly, Cloncose; Rose McKiernan, Cornafean; Darragh Cullen, Cornafean; Pauline Doyle, Farranseer; Conor O'Reilly, Drumbess. Next weeks jackpot is €5200. The draw for the All Ireland Football tickets takes place on Sunday night September 14th.

Juvenile Football Club : There will be a walk in aid of the Juvenile Club followed by refreshments, tea and coffee at 10am on Saturday September 20th at the football park. This is open to everybody. Entry fee €5.

Recent Deaths: Sincere sympathy is extended to Joe Sheridan Coronea on the death of his brother Jack Sheridan Arva. Jack was well known in the Cornafean area having worked for many years in the Roadstone quarry Coronea. He was a keen huntsman and GAA follower.

Sympathy is also extended to Peadar McSeain Monery on the recent death of his brother -in-law Michael McCabe Bruskey. Michael was a real gentleman who farmed all his life.

Cornafean Bowling Club : With the County league due to start shortly, practice continues in the community centre each Tuesday night at 9pm. New members always welcome.

The 11th annual Gallant 15km Challenge : in aid of St Christopher's Hospice Cavan takes place Saturday 25th October 2014. Main sponsor is MacManus Pharmacies Cavan. People can either walk, run or cycle the 15km from Cavan to Cornafean or choose the smaller course of Ballinagh to Cornafean. Over the previous 10 years the Challenge has been an outstanding success raising 289,000 euro for this wonderful cause.

Thunder Rolls Garth Brooks Charity Concert featuring a host of very talented Carrigallen artists takes place in the Breffni Arms Hotel Arvagh on Saturday 13th September in aid of Saint Christopher's Hospice Cavan.  Also performing on the night will be singing sensation Priest Father Ray Kelly who became a worldwide phenomenon reaching over 40 million hits on youtube for singing "HALLELUJAH" at a couples wedding.
