April 16, 2014Our seniors Division 2 Promotion game with Arva was postponed last weekend due to the Cavan U21's winning the Ulster U21 title. Our seniors are away to Ballymachugh this Sunday April 20th in Division 2 of the league(Promotion) with the match scheduled for a 2pm throw in. This throw in time might be brought forward to an earlier time. Check club twitter or www.cavangaa.ie for any time change to fixture.
Cavan U21's
Congratulations to the Cavan U21's on defeating Donegal by 2-6 to 0-8 in the U21 Ulster Championship final in the Athletic Grounds, Armagh on Wednesday night last completing a fourth U21 championship triumph in succession. We wish the U21's and their management team the very best of luck this Saturday April 19th when they face Dublin in the U21 All Ireland Championship semi final at 4.45 p.m in Portlaoise.
Baby Congrats
Congrats to our senior player Cormac and Marian on the birth of their baby boy Darragh on Saturday last. Everyone associated with the club are delighted for you both and wish you both many happy years of parenthood.
Ladies 9-A-Side Semi Final
Best of luck to the Belturbet Ladies who face Lacken in the Division 1 9-A-Side league semi final this Sunday April 20th at 12 noon. Venue: TBC.
Reserve Division 2 Championship Draw
We have been paired alongside Ballymachugh, Drung and Mountnugent in Reserve 2 Championship which is due to commence on Friday June 27th.
Minors
Our minors gave Drumalee a walkover win yesterday evening Tuesday in Division 4 league clash. Our minors play host to Drumgoon on Tuesday next April 22nd at 7pm in Rory O'Moore Park.
U16's
Our U16's topped the Division 3 League table after nine group games winning eight matches and suffering just one defeat at the hands of Lavey. Our U16's face Cornafean in the U16 Division 3 League semi final this Sunday April 20th at 6.30 p.m. Venue: TBC.
U12's
Our U12's were defeated by 0-14 to 0-5 by Butlersbridge in Round 3 of the Spring football league last week. Our U12's are back in league action tomorrow Thursday when they face an away trip to our neighbours Drumlane at 6.15 p.m.
U14's
Our U14's begin their Division 2 U14 league campaign away to Templeport on Monday next April 21st. Time: TBC.
Cavan Minor ladies
Congratulations to our minor players Sarah Murray, Laura McKiernan and Freda Dolan and the Cavan Minor Ladies who had a thumping 9-26 to 0-3 win over Down on Sunday last.
Erne Carnival Weekend
Following on from last year's successful and popular Belturbet "Gathering" in July there will be an "Erne Carnival Weekend" in Rory O'Moore Park this July starting on Friday July 4th and running through until Sunday July 6th. Make sure to keep the dates in your diary as there will lots of fun and craic for all the family.
