The late PJ Masterson,

Another link with the Cornafean football team of 1956 was broken last week with the death of PJ Masterson. PJ was born in Bruce and played football for Cavan at all levels. He was one of the younger players when he played a star role at No 12 on that Cornafean team that won the Senior football championship in 1956.
PJ worked in Roadstone Coronea for many years before moving with his wife and family to Navan, Co. Meath where he spent the rest of his life. He was a pleasant witty person who loved all sports. He was interested in Politics and was a Cavan Co Councillor for some time.
He was predeceased by his wife Kathleen and brother Michael and is survived by his family, sons Pauric and Adrian, daughter Rosemary, grandchildren, brother Sean in Ballinagh, sister-in-law Rosemarie in Bruce. He will  be sadly missed by his cousins, nephews and nieces and many friends. His funeral was in Navan on Friday last.  "May the sod rest lightly on his Grave"

Death of Tom Carty,
Sincere sympathy is extended to May Carty and the Crogan family Coronea on the recent death of May's husband Tom Carty in Crossabeg, Co. Wexford. He will be sadly missed by May and their family, sons Harry, Thomas and John, daughters Anne and Jane, his brothers-in-Law Gerry, Jimmy, Pat and Tom, grandchildren and extended family and friends. His funeral was in Crossabeg on Saturday last. "Ar dheis de go raibh a hanam dilis"
