Cavan Seniors

The committee, players and supporters of Castlerahan GAA club would like to extend their best wishes to Cian Mackey, Oisin Kiernan and Enda Flanagan and to the rest of the Cavan senior team, management and backroom team for Sunday's Ulster final v Donegal in Clones. Beir bua!

Up For The Match

Damien O'Reilly will be the Master of Ceremonies for an Ulster final preview night in the Imperial Bar, Cavan in aid of the Castlerahan players' fund. Guests include Martin McHugh, Rory Gallagher, Seamus Banty McEnaney and Fintan Cahill. Start time is 9:30pm. Tickets are €10 and are available from the senior players or in the Imperial Bar. 

June draw winners

Main draw: First prize (€500): Ronan McCabe. Second prize (€300): Daire and Fionn Sweeney. Third prize (€200): Seamus Greene. Twelve prizes of €100 to each of the following: Peter Skelly, Pierce Farrelly, Sean Fitzpatrick (Castlerahan), Niall Lynch, Hughie & Kathleen Barkey, Maura & Mae Fitzsimons, Conor Smith (Cross), Breda Elliott, Colm & Ann Caffrey, Martin & Rebecca Cunningham, Tom Smith (Lackenmore) and Ruth Goldrick. Last month, Fr. Felim Kelly's number was drawn for a prize of €100. His family requested that the prize be raffled in this month's draw and so Neil McCabe was drawn as the lucky winner of the €100. Thanks to everybody for their support of our club draw. The next draw takes place on Thursday, 11 July at the club meeting.

July monthly meeting

The next monthly meeting will take place on Thursday, 11 July at 8:30pm in the clubrooms. All members welcome and encouraged to attend. The last of our monthly draws takes place at the meeting and card holders are reminded to have instalments paid to Noeleen Smith on or before the evening of the draw.

 

Kellogg's Cúl Camps

The Kellogg's Cúl Camp returns to Fay Park, Ballyjamesduff from 01 to 05 July this year. More information can be found and bookings made at www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie.

 

Senior

Our senior team were defeated by Kingscourt in round 10 of the league on Sunday afternoon last. Full-time scoreline: Castlerahan 0-13 to 1-12 Kingscourt. We host Laragh United on Friday evening at 7:30pm.

 

Senior ladies

The senior ladies travel to Drumlane on Wednesday evening for round 5 of the Division 2 league. Throw-in at 8pm.

 

Reserve

Our reserve team suffered a heavy defeat in the final round of the league away to Ramor United on Friday evening last. Full-time scoreline: Castlerahan 0-5 to 1-23 Ramor United. The draw for the reserve championship takes place this evening (Monday); more details next week.

 

U17

Our U17s will compete in Division 3 of the championship (13-a-side) alongside Belturbet, Blackwater Gaels, Crosserlough, Drumgoon, Kingscourt, Knockbride and St. Joseph's. The teams will be divided into two groups with the top two in each group progressing to the semi-finals with Group A winners playing Group B runners up and vice versa. The championship commences on Tuesday, 16 July. Best of luck to the team and management as they continue their preparations over the coming weeks, including their participation in the Andy Oates Memorial Tournament organised by Laragh United.

 

U15

Our U15s will compete in Division 4 of the championship (11-a-side) alongside Cuchulainns, Denn, Drumgoon, Munterconnaught MacFinns, Naomh Bríd, St. Finbarr's and Templeport. The championship commences on Tuesday, 9 July. Best of luck to the team and management as they continue their preparations over the coming weeks.

 

U13

Our two teams have qualified for semi-finals in their respective divisions. The Division 2 team will play Gowna tomorrow evening (Tuesday) in Lacken with throw-in at 7pm while the Division 5 team meet Mountnugent in Ballinagh on Wednesday evening at 7pm. Best of luck to both teams.
