The 2019 Ulster Senior Football, Ladies Football and Camogie Championships were officially launched on Wednesday at the Hill of the O’Neill in Dungannon. Players and managers from across all three codes gathered with representatives from Ulster GAA, Ulster LGFA and Ulster Camogie for the event.

Those present were addressed by Ulster GAA President Oliver Galligan, Ulster LGFA President Eileen Jones, Ulster Camogie President Jennifer Cultra and Uachtarán Cumann Lúthchleas Gael John Horan.

Speaking at the launch, Ulster GAA President Oliver Galligan said:

“It gives me great pleasure to launch the 2019 Ulster Championships at The Hill of the O’Neill in Dungannon – the Ancient capital of Ulster. I am delighted to once again be joined by our colleagues from Ulster Ladies Gaelic Football and Ulster Camogie and have all three codes represented here tonight.

“I think that it’s fair to say the Ulster Senior Football Championship is accepted as the most competitive inter-county football championship in the country. The keen rivalry will be renewed between our counties in the coming weeks and this always helps them bring out the best in each other, with each county believing they can get the result on any given Sunday or indeed, Saturday evening.”

The Ulster Championship commences on Sunday 12th May when Doire make the trip across the Sperrins to play Tír Eoghain at Healy Park.

The official launch was preceded by a photo call at the ruins of the historic Hill of the O’Neill.
