Death of Donal Kelly

The entire parish was plunged into shock and sadness on Saturday last 29th December when news broke of the sudden passing of Donal Kelly at his home in Drumhilla, Killeshandra.  Donal the proprietor of Kellys Bar, Killeshandra was a very talented and ambitious businessman managing a fine premises in the town and also had just completed a new extension to his business.  Throughout his far too short life Donal was a very talented musician, singer and dancer, played both burling and football, was a very skilled and knowledgeable fisherman and found time to be part of many committees in Killeshandra town as well as the local Fire Service.  His loss to the social, sporting and economic life of Killeshandra and it's hinterland is immeasurable.  To Donal's parents, Thelma and Philip, his sister Ailish and his beloved girlfriend AnnMarie we extend our heartfelt sympathies on their tremendous and sudden loss of a much loved son, brother and boyfriend.  We also extend our sympathies to his extended family members and many many friends and the huge crowds who visited Donal's home and attended his funeral in St. Brigids Church, Killeshandra on Wednesday morning last bore testament to the popularity and high esteem in which this young man was held.  May Donal rest in peace.  At dheis De go raibh an anam.
