Annual General Meeting 2018 

A well attended AGM was held last Friday November 30 at 8pm.  Officers elected for 2019 are as follows: Chairman Colin Higgins, Vice chairman Seán Kierans, Secretary Agnes Clarke, Assistant secretary/Registrar Johnny Fleming, Treasurer Kevin Shiels, Assistant treasurer Gerry Smith, PRO Fiona Burke, Cultural Officer Phil Smith, Child Protection Sonya Morris, Health and Safety Gillian O’Reilly, Development and Infrastructure Niall Smith, Juvenile Officer Enda Yore, Ground Maintenance Tommy Reilly, Ladies Chairman Pat Farrelly. President; Brendan Murtagh, Vice Presidents ; Sean Farrelly, Terry Mc Cabe, Pat Tinnelly, Mattie Kennedy, Dr John Mc Mahon,   & Frank Boylan. A presentation was made to our outgoing chairman, Phil Smith who served six years at the helm. Congratulations to incoming chairman Colin Higgins and best of luck to the committee for 2019! 

U20s 

Our U20 s are through to the division 3 final next Sunday at the 3G at 2.30pm. They beat Castlerahan last Sunday in very wet conditions. Kingscourt 1-13 Castlerahan 3-04. Team Andrew Clarke,Ryan Kennedy, John Mc Cullagh, Ordhran Cunningham, Jack Kelly   ( Captain), Cian Mc Cormack  0-1, Liam Kierans, Paddy Meade  0-2, Kevin Curtis  0-1, Shane Duffy  0-1, Conor Carolan, Oisin Cunningham  1-0, Cian Shekelton  0-7 (1 free), Dylan Mc Cabe, John Oates, Subs Ronan Byrne   (replaced Kevin Curtis   55 mins), Shane Clarke  ( replaced Dylan Mc Cabe  20 mins), Conrad Martin (replaced Conor Carolan    42mins), James Farrelly , Jake Gillen, Adam Sherriff, Conor Proudfoot, Michael Gargan, Ryan Sexton. Best of luck lads and to the management team of Philly Smith, Michael Farrelly, Philly Tinnelly and Seanie Farrelly. 

Seniors 

Following the resignation of this years team management the club set about procuring the services of a management team for next year and beyond. Many contacts were made and meetings held over the past three weeks between committee members, team representatives and potential candidates. Finally we have agreed subject to ratification to employ the services of David Lennon & Derek Walsh to manage the Kingscourt adult squad for a two year period subject to review after year one. We take this opportunity to guarantee the full support of all club members and to wish them every success.  

Ulster GAA Club Ground Awards. 

Kingscourt Stars are the proud winners of the Ulster Presidents GAA Cavan Club Grounds. The presentation was made at the Tullyglass Hotel, Ballymena last Thursday and outgoing Chairman Phil Smith was there to receive it! Well done to all involved! A lot of hard work goes into maintaining our grounds. 

Club Membership 2019 

On reviewing the club membership fees the club executive have agreed the present club membership fees are not in line with other GAA clubs in the county and throughout the region. Our club presently caters for boys & girls from U-6’s up to adult teams and provide facilities not matched by most clubs. We as a club provide excellent coaches at all levels with a part time coach employed within the primary schools. Presently the cost to finance the club per annum is in the region of €130,000 with approximately €30,000 raised by our club lotto with the balance raised through other different sources. In reviewing the club membership going forward the following rates has been agreed.  

An Chairde Realta Dunari Family membership = €240 per year {Direct debit €20 per month x 12 months}  This includes full family membership, player insurance, season ticket holder for all home league matches in all grades, 3 lotto tickets per week and 5% discount of all club merchandise ordered on registration day only. An Chairde Realta Dunari Single membership = € 144 per year {Direct debit €12 per month x 12 months} This includes single person membership, player insurance, season ticket holder for all home league matches in all grades and 1 lotto tickets per week. This is applicable to all playing members over the U-20 age level. Adult Players – All players over 20 years old - €120 or single membership of An Chairde Realta Dunari as above.   Students (with valid Student Card) - €75. Juvenile players = U-6’s - U-11’s = €50 per player.   U-13’s - U-20’s = €75 per player {Includes students}.                                   

Adult non playing members incl OAP’s = €50
