Scór na nÓg:  Best of luck to the Cornafean Instrumental Group who represent their club and county on Saturday next 8th December at 2pm in Stradone Community Hall in the Ulster Semi Final. The group consists of Diarmuid Martin, Brianna McCaffrey and Jessica Smith under the guidance of Gemma Martin.  All support appreciated.

 

Scór na nÓg Table Quiz:  Congratulations to the Cornafeann GFC Table Quiz team of Martin and William McGibney, Emmet Martin and Maebh Masterson who were deserved winners of Scor County Table Quiz last Thursday night in the Hotel Kilmore after a very tightly fought contest. The team only missed 2 questions out of 80.  They will  now represent their club and county in the All Ireland Final on 23rd February 2019.  Also a huge well done to Quiz team members Aine Brady, Diarmuid Martin, Oisin McGahern and Cormac Doyle who were representing Cornafean Ladies Club and did very well in the competition.

 

Congraulations

To Paddy McDermott who was Master of Ceremonies at the County Final of Scor na Nog last weekend in Stradone.  It was 40 years ago to the day that Paddy was first Master of Ceremonies at Scor Competitions.  This is a fantastic achievement and Paddy has been a brilliant ambassador for Scor, both Junior and Senior down through the years.  Well done Paddy. 

 

Lough Oughter Gaels

Best wishes to the Lough Oughter Gaels Minor Ladies who on this Sunday 9th December will take on Bredagh from Co Down in the Ulster Final.  After great victories over Armagh's Clann na Gael and Donaghmoyne from Monagahn the girls will go into the game in termined and confident mood.  Best of luck to the team and management and the five Cornafean Ladies who are part of the panel. Game down for decision in Emyvale at 1.30 p.m.

 

Annual Christmas Jumper Night

Will be held in McSeains Lounge Cornafean on 22nd December in aid of MS Cavan.   Please show your support for this great cause.

Christmas Lights Vehicle Parade returns to the Region.

All types of vehicles, lorries, cars, vans and tractors.

Proceeds in aid of Vincent McGee Benefit Fund, Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust and Aishling Brady Fund

Sunday 16th December at 4.30 p.m. in Cavan Town.

Entry fee €20 per vehicle. Registration from 1 p.m. at Equestrian Centre.  Refreshments and entertainment in the Equestrian Centre Cavan.

 

Cavan Ladies Co Board.....Night of celebrations in Crover House Hotel on this Saturday night 8th December with lots of Cornafean interest on the night. Aoife Young and Maeve Masterson members of the All Ireland U14 winning panel will receive their medals, Aine Brady and Orla Smith have been nominated in their positions for the Cavan Ladies Team of the year and deservedly Gillian and Fiachra Brady have been nominated  in the category of Club Volunteers for 2018.  Congratulations to them all and we wish them well. Tickets available from any of the Cornafean Ladies Committee.

 

Christmas Jumper Party and Sing Song 

In aid of of Saint Christophers Hospice Cavan takes place in The Brewery, Arva on Friday 14th December at 10 pm.

Come along or sing a song.  Refreshments and surprises on the night.  A good nights craic is guaranteed.

 

Roscommon Solstice Choir

Performing in concert in the Breffni Arms, Arva on Friday 14th December.  Doors open 7.30 p.m.  Show starts at 8 p.m. sharp.  Tickets are only €10 and are on sale in Arva PO, Lynchs Newsagents, Breffni Arms Hotel or any member of the Committee. Please support.  Proceeds are for the refurbishment of St. Patrick's Hall, Arva.  

 

CLUB NOTES

 

Best of luck to our Lough Oughter Minor Ladies in their Ulster Final in Emyvale on this Sunday.  The girls will take on the Bredagh Club from Co Down.  Wishing also the Cornafean Ladies, Aine, Aimee, Deirbhile, Hazel and Edel who are part of the panel best wishes for the final.
