Maggie Farrelly will add the Cavan IFC final to her refereeing cv this weekend.

Back in January 2016, the Laragh Utd clubperson made GAA history when becoming the first female official to referee a senior men's inter-county game – the Dr McKenna Cup clash of Fermanagh and St Mary’s.

Later that year, she took charge of the county JFC decider between Cornafean and Ballymachugh.

Farrelly has been appointed to take charge of the eagerly anticipated clash between Cuchulainns and Mullahoran in Kingspan Breffni Park on Sunday (3pm).

Joe McQuillan will be the standby referee and he will also be on duty for the SFC semi-final replay between Crosserlough and Gowna at Cootehill on Saturday (2pm).

The senior semi-final replay involving Lavey and Castlerahan in Kingspan Breffni Park on Saturday (4.30pm) will be refereed by Gerry Sheridan.
