Lillis wants more

Palatine manager Mick Lillis was not entirely happy with his side's performance against Old Leighlin, despite getting the win.

It means that his charges have assured themselves of a place in the knockout stages with two wins from two, but the former Laois manager believes there is room for improvement.

Lillis stated to the Carlow Nationalist that they need to improve as the campaign goes on as the opposition will be a lot tougher.

"We won the game. Yeah it is two out of two but you don't have to be a genius to know we are not firing on all cylinders. We need to up the ante and get better momentum going," said Lillis.

"Goals are better than three points. They give a team a lift and puts a downer on the opposition. It is good to get them. We are in the quarterfinals at least. We will be driving on now and trying to win the next. You never know, all games are different."
