Carlow chairman Sean Campion has revealed that remedial work needs to be carried out on the new floodlights installed at Netwatch Cullen Park.

The floodlights were installed a few months back and they are still in a commissioning phase at the moment.

Electrical experts Philips are assessing the lights and reporting to the county board to inform them what needs to be done to maximise their potential.

"They were passed for playing on in relation to health and safety but there are a few issues. Phillips have been working on it too," Campion told the Carlow Nationalist.

"It is important for them to get them right too as other counties would be looking at what is happening in Carlow."
