Carlow GAA are to discuss the All-Ireland SFC proposals put forward by Croke Park.

The changes to the current system would see the All-Ireland quarterfinals scrapped and replaced by a group stage system whereby the eight teams left in the championship.

However, a number of counties and indeed county managers have spoken out against the proposals, but Carlow chairman Sean Campion stated to the Carlow Nationalist that they would be making no comment until the matter was discussed with club delegates.

"It would not be fair for me to comment before the clubs get a chance to discuss the issues," said Campion.

"Once the delegates get a chance to look at the proposals then we will be in a better position to say something."
