Scallan plays down manner of victory

July 29, 2016

Mount Leinster Rangers manager Eamonn Scallon believes that there is not much separating the sides despite the manner of their latest victory in the SHC.

A 3-22 to 0-04 victory over Ballinkillen has sent shock waves through the hurling fraternity in the county.

However, Scallan told the Carlow Nationalist that were it not for a couple of soft goals, the scoreline could have been very different.

"I think there were a couple of goals which Ballinkillen will be disappointed about. Up to that it was even so I wouldn't think for one second there is that much between the sides. There isn't," said Scallan.

"We came here to get two points and that is what we have done. We are out of here now and we're happy enough."
