Carlow GAA is to mark the centenary of the 1916 county finals with a unique idea.
In conjunction with Carlow Tourism, a re-enactment of the 1916 Carlow county hurling and football finals will be held at Netwatch Cullen Park on Saturday, April 2nd.
In those years' finals, Tinryland played Tullow in the football decider, while Bagenalstown and Graiguecullen contested the hurling final.
Speaking to the Carlow Nationalist, operations manager of Carlow GAA Ronan Dempsey said: "It is our commemoration of Easter 1916. It will be a fun occasion in fancy dress or the dress of the times where people will walk from town up to the grounds.
"Leinster GAA are going to help us with it. They think it is a great idea and the fact that we have a Laois club involved will add more spice to the whole project."
