Carlow under-21 captain Marty Kavanagh can't wait for the Leinster hurling semi-final.

The Barrowsiders will be massive underdogs against Kilkenny in the next round, but Kavanagh stressed to the Carlow Nationalist that there is great confidence in their dressingroom.

That confidence was evident when Carlow turned around a half time deficit to defeat Laois in the quarterfinal.

"No one gave us a chance except those in the dressingroom," said Kavanagh. "We were told that we were going to be beaten around the place and that this was only going to be a practice match for Laois. The talent in the dressingroom is unbelievable. Many would make any county team."

He added: "It is only May. We don't want to be finished inter-county hurling. We can't wait for our next game now."
