Carlow defender Shane Redmond insists that Turlough O'Brien has breathed new life into the side.
The Barrowsiders have turned their fortunes around this year and are still in the hunt for promotion from Division Four.
Carlow's only loss in this year's campaign came about when Offaly defeated them in controversial circumstances last time out.
Leitrim are the visitors to Netwatch Cullen Park this Sunday and wins in their last two matches will leave Carlow in a decent position, although they need other results to go their way to ensure promotion.
Nonetheless, whatever happens in the remainder of the campaign, Redmond told the Carlow Nationalist that O'Brien deserves great credit for the work he has done.
"Turlough has brought his enthusiasm to training. His passion is second to none," said Redmond. "With the management team of Darren Leonard, Damien McMahon, Tommy Wogan and Damien Sheehan, the balance is very good.
"Getting into the IT with Damien Sheehan is hugely important and every member of the panel is fitter and feels better on the field. Everyone is buying into it."
