The Sigerson Cup finals weekend gets underway at The Mardyke this afternoon with the staging of the semi-finals.

The first semi-final at 2pm is an all-Dublin affair between DCU and UCD. UCD can call on the likes of John Heslin (Westmeath), Niall Kelly (Kildare), Ryan Wylie (Monaghan) and Padraig Harnan (Meath), but they face formidable opponents in DCU who have come through tough tests against UUJ and St. Mary's, and will be looking to Galway's Tom Flynn, Dublin's Conor McHugh and the Laois pair Colm Begley and Conor Meredith to guide them into tomorrow's final.

Holders and hosts UCC are expected to prove too strong for IT Carlow in the second penultimate round tie at 4pm. While Kerry star Paul Geaney is an injury doubt, UCC manager Billy Morgan can still call on players of the calibre of Conor Cox (Kerry) and Cork stars Brian O'Driscoll, Tom Clancy and Conor Dorman.
