Mount Leinster Rangers and their manager Tom Mullally have parted company after a successful term together.

The Kilkenny native guided MLR to a Leinster club title in 2013, while they have been the dominant force in Carlow until their reign was brought to an end last year.

MLR chairman Pat Hickey revealed to the Carlow Nationalist that Mullally was returning to his native club Glenmore who he would manage this year.

"Tommy felt that we needed a change and decided to go back and manage his own club. There was no falling out and the decision was of mutual consent. If he had wanted to stay on, he would have been welcome."

Wexford native Eamonn Scallon has replaced Mullally and the 1996 All-Ireland winner will be charged with the task of regaining the county title once again.
