"The big ogre is beginning to lose his sense of danger, Kilkenny. There's a gap in the market again and we are ideally positioned to exploit that gap."

Ger Loughnane believes Kilkenny will be vunerable in 2015 and is confident that Clare can make up ground on the All-Ireland champions.

"We should have won it in normal time. I think any objective onlooker would say that. We didn't take our chances but that's the way it goes. And then we lost Ger Healion, which forced us to rejig the team. It disrupted out our shape a bit."

It was a case of so near and yet so far for Danny Owens and Kilcormac/Killoughey.

"If Kilcormac-Killoughey had won today we could have no qualms because in my eyes we got out of jail."

Ballyhale boss Andy Moloney breathed a sigh of relief at the final whistle in extra-time.

"We heard speculation that this was his last year but he's the best full-back in the country so it was hard to see him go. He's a massive, massive loss to Kilkenny hurling but he's gone now and we can't look back."

Colin Fennelly looks to the future following JJ Delaney's retirement from inter-county hurling.

"It was definitely the old cliche today, goals win matches. No matter who you play, if you get the ball in around the square then there are going to be chances if you can win the breaks. We were lucky those breaks went our way and we ended up getting five goals."

Modeligo manager Pa Kearney was happy to get the breaks against Castlemartyre in the Munster JHC final.

"The better team won on the day, if you don't perform you don't win and that's the pity of it."

Castlemartyr coach Christy Connery was disappointed his team didn't play up to their potential.

"Adam was absolutely brilliant for us today. The points he kicked would grace any arena or any All-Ireland final. Anyone who was here today to witness his display were the lucky ones."

Brosna team manager Jimmy Keane hailed the performance of Adam Barry who scored eight points against Glin in the Munster JF final.
