St Mullins manager Pat 'Mosey' Murphy heaped praise on his players after they captured the county under-21 hurling title last weekend.

Celebrating their centenary year, the St Mullins club capped a perfect campaign by adding the under-21 title to the senior crown that they won earlier this year.

It may have took a replay to see off Naomh Eoin on this occasion, but Murphy stressed to the Carlow Nationalist that his charges always had the belief.

"Emotion is one thing. Getting a performance is another," said Murphy. "The players put it in. We focused completely on the performance and the display rather than the emotion. It paid off. From one to fifteen we knew what we had to do."
