Ballon manager Joe Broderick admits that his side left it late to claim the Junior A football title.
A 2-11 to 2-06 win over Palatine doesn't tell the full story of this match as Ballon came from behind late on to be crowned champions.
It was a heart-breaking defeat for Palatine and Broderick admitted to the Carlow Nationalist that the situation looked bleak earlier on.
He said: "It was up there with the best of them. You would be sorry for Palatine who played all the football. We showed heart and determination in the end."
